SHE stands for Shaping Her Earth and Shaping Her Eternity.
In Cambodia, the SHE Rescue Home exists as a safe-haven for girls normally aged 5 to 16 who have been trafficked, raped, prostituted or at-risk of any of these. There are complex issues that contribute to a girl's vulnerability to trafficking. Factors such as poverty, abuse, trickery or deception and unemployment or addiction in the family unit.
The SHE Rescue Home works in partnership with local and international agencies in Cambodia to give girls, as well as their families and communities, opportunities to reshape their lives. SHE Rescue Home exists to help these people fulfill their God-given potential.
We are committed to working holistically with the girls and their families to positively impact not just them, but their community and the nation of Cambodia. We work towards the goal through education and an alleviation of the poverty through the Family Assistance Program and Micro-Enterprise endeavours. Our goal, where possible, is the safe reintegration of the girls to their families and communities.
SHE Rescue Home was introduced to the work of Global Development Group (GDG) in late 2006 and has been working in development activities with GDG since 2007, receiving the first girls into the SHE Rescue Home in March 2008. Through our project partnership with GDG, we have been able to assist girls who have been raped, prostituted, trafficked or are at risk of these injustices. SHE Rescue Home is proud to be a partner for Project J828 with Global Development Group (ABN 57 102 400 993), an Australian DFAT approved Non Government Organisation carrying out quality humanitarian projects with approved partners and providing aid to relieve poverty and provide long term solutions.
Global Development Group takes responsibility of the project according to DFAT rules providing a governance role and assisting in the areas of planning, monitoring, evaluating and auditing to ensure the projects are carried out to DFAT requirements.
