In 2006, I discovered that visiting Cambodia means not only seeing a visually stunning nation, but also means being exposed to the reality of the many precious young girls who are trafficked into prostitution. My heart broke as I heard story after story of these girls, destined to live their lives within the sex slave industry. No future. No hope.
Never before had I seen such a lost generation of young children living in despair and hopelessness where poverty goes far beyond a lack of food or money. It was easy to feel constantly overwhelmed with the needs of these children, only to have God remind me that to succumb to the enormity of the problem would be to fail the one.
On my last night in Phnom Penh, my final meal was spent with a twelve year old girl telling me “My friend, my friend. She is 10. Two men tonight. Mother, father sell. You come, you help. Please…?”
For this girl, a Rescue Home may be her only hope. Thus, the She Rescue Home was born...

"A SHE Rescue Home is a secure haven for trafficked girls who have been rescued from the sex slave industry."
Each of these beautiful young girls deserves a safe, God-centered place to live where counselling, medical attention, education and vocational training will take place in a safe and loving location.
This home is an important tool in the protection and healing process for these young girls. A long-term commitment to the home is necessary as many of them will remain in care well into their teens and/or early twenties. Integration back into society is optimum, but usually not possible. The cost is huge but the rewards are immeasureable in the lives of these precious girls.
You will never know her name or see her face….
But She matters.
